Jesse Tyler Ferguson from ‘Modern Family’ Welcomes Second Baby with Justin Mikita

One of Hollywood’s favorite families has welcomed a new little arrival.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson first shot to fame back in 2009 thanks to his unforgettable role as Mitchell Pritchett on Modern Family. His role as the husband of Cam, played by Eric Stonestreet, won the hearts of viewers all over the globe.

Although the actor had featured in a few shows before then, namely The Class and Ugly Betty, it is undeniable that this role is what really solidified his name among the stars. So much so that the star was even nominated for a whopping 5 consecutive Emmy awards for his performance in the sitcom.

However, when it comes to Broadway, Ferguson has pretty much always been well-known. His early credits include the 1998 revival of On the Town, and 2005’s debut of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. From there, he was a staple of the stage and has featured in everything from productions of Spamalot to Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice.

Ferguson has also made a name for himself as a member of one of the most adorable families around. He married Justin Mikita, a lawyer, back in 2013 after 3 years of dating.

The pair are undoubtedly one of the cutest in Hollywood, and they often make appearances together on the red carpet and share snaps of their family over on Instagram.

The couple welcomed their first child back in 2020. Beckett Mercer Ferguson-Mikita was born on July 7 of that year.

A rep for the couple told People at the time: “The new parents are overjoyed and excited for this new journey as a family of 3.”

And now, their family has got even bigger once again with the arrival of their second son, Sullivan Louis.

Their newest addition arrived on November 15 via surrogate, and the pair couldn’t be happier. It comes amid Ferguson’s acclaimed return to Broadway in the revival of the baseball-themed play Take Me Out.

In a joint Instagram post, they wrote: “Sad to be away from my @takemeoutbway fam tonight but we ran off to welcome our newest little one, Sullivan Louis Ferguson-Mikita.

“A special thanks to @drshahinghadir for helping us grow our family & our incredible surrogate and all of the nurses and doctors. We are overjoyed to be a family of four.

“My incredible understudy @timmytwright will be on tonight and tomorrow and I will be back in the ball game on Thursday 11/17. I know Tim has you all in wonderful hands.

“GO EMPIRES!”

The comments section is littered with well wishes from the pair’s celebrity friends, as well as fans.

Ferguson’s Modern Family co-star Sarah Hyland wrote: “The SWEETEST.”

Mamma Mia‘s Amanda Seyfried said: “Jesus what a day! Congratulations sweet boys!!!!”

Orange is the New Black star Uzo Aduba commented: “Awww. Congratulations to all and welcome, baby Sullivan!!”

Their doctor, Dr. Shahin Ghadir, said: ” I am honored to have been a part of this beautiful journey. You have the most perfect family now.”

Other famous faces sending their well wishes to the family include Million Dollar Baby actress Hillary Swank, Sean Maguire from Once Upon a Time and One Tree Hill‘s Sophia Bush.
