Owen Wilson fans have been left totally speechless after finding out that the Loki actor has a famous brother.
Wilson has shot back into the spotlight recently, thanks to several viral TikTok memes that keep making their way around the platform of his and Ben Stiller’s Zoolander characters, Hansel and Derek.
I don’t know about you, but my FYP is overflowing with Zoolander content, and I’m not exactly mad about it.
As well as Zoolander, you might know Wilson best for his roles in the hit comedies Starsky & Hutch (2004), Wedding Crashers (2005), You, Me and Dupree (2006), How Do You Know (2010), The Big Year (2011), and The Internship (2013).
He is also known for the family classics Marley and Me (2008), and the Night at the Museum film series (2005–2014), he even voices Lightning McQueen in the Cars film series.
But most recently, Wilson starred alongside Tom Hiddleston in the Disney+ series Loki, where he plays Mobius, which was a huge hit with fans.
What you might not know, is Wilson actually has a younger brother, who is also pretty famous. And fans are shocked they never realized.
The crazy revelation was brought up on TikTok by the user Jemma McCarthy @jemmamccarthy_. Her reaction makes the video even more relatable, as we were all doing the same thing when we found out.
The viral video has now been viewed almost 2 million times, and McCarthy captioned the video: “I was today years old when I realized this guy is Owen Wilson’s brother.”
“Tell me I’m not the only one that just clocked?” she said while sharing pictures of his brother, Luke Wilson, famous for his roles in Legally Blonde, and My Super Ex-Girlfriend.
Despite appearing in some other hits, such as Henry Poole Is Here, Death at a Funeral, and The Goldfinch, Legally Blonde is arguably his most popular film.
For the 2 people in the world that haven’t watched Legally Blonde, Wilson plays the character Emmett, a law student who falls head-over-heels for Reese Witherspoon’s Elle Woods.
Surprised fans were quick to comment on the video, with one TikTok user writing: “Now I know why he looks so familiar. Never thought about them being brothers!”
A second user asked: “How did I not realize?”
“Why does this make so much sense? I always thought they looked similar,” a third commented.
A fourth said: “Oh my God that’s crazy, I didn’t even realize.”
“OK I’m shocked but not at the same time,” another wrote.
Despite the majority of people clearly being taken aback by the revelation, some were equally as confused that nobody knew they were brothers…
One commented: “Girl what?! Everybody knows they are brothers, they talk exactly the same!”
Another wrote: “Am I really old? I thought everyone knew this.”
A third said: “How did y’all not know this? Me and my friends used to call him ‘the hot one’,” just a little bit harsh.
Did you make the connection, or were you equally as oblivious?
