Jeremy Renner Shares Photo Of His 30 Broken Bones From Snow Plough Accident

Actor Jeremy Renner has given fans an update on his condition, revealing that he broke thirty bones in his snow plough accident.

As we previously reported, the star was involved in a horrific accident involving a snow plough while trying to clear the road outside his home on New Year’s Day.

Renner’s injuries came as the U.S. suffered from severe winter storms. These affected millions of people, and resulted in several deaths over the last few weeks.

Snow and ice were prevalent in many states over the New Year’s weekend, and it only got worse, with sixteen states having been under weather alerts.

Renner was severely injured as a result of the baltic conditions.

According to his publicist, Samantha Mast, Renner was attempting to clear the road outside his home in Nevada following a snowstorm, when he suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries involving the snow plough he was using.

According to a news release, emergency services responded to a “traumatic injury” call at 9 am on January 1.

The statement read: “Upon arrival, Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital.”

Following the incident, TMZ reported that neighbours rushed to the scene to help the fifty-two-year-old, whose leg was allegedly run over by the Snowcat he was using.

Thankfully, one of his neighbours is a doctor and managed to fashion a tourniquet around Renner’s leg to prevent him from losing any more blood. This was while they waited for emergency services to arrive.

TMZ also obtained the 911 call log, which revealed further details of what exactly happened at Renner’s home.

They report that the actor could be heard moaning in pain in the background of the call, and that he had “extreme difficulty” breathing.

It also states that the right-hand side of his chest had collapsed, and that his upper torso had been “completely crushed” by the machinery.

Renner was then airlifted to the hospital where he underwent surgery for his extensive injuries.

Sadly, it doesn’t look like Renner will have a speedy recovery, as his friends have shared his injuries are a lot worse than we thought.

A source told RadarOnline: “It’s much worse than anyone knows. Jeremy is very aware of the fact that he almost died out there. The right side of Jeremy’s chest was crushed, and his upper torso had collapsed. He also had a bad head wound that was bleeding and a leg injury.”

His friends added that Renner was aware of the extent of his injuries and that it could take years to fully heal from the incident.

“Jeremy was in a lot of pain, and was having difficulty breathing. He knew he was in bad shape and that he might not make it out of this. Word is the damage to Jeremy’s chest was so substantial it had to be reconstructed in surgery,” they continued.

“So far, he’s had 2 surgeries and he will likely require more in the weeks ahead on his leg. Doctors tend to space out operations to allow time for the body’s natural healing process to kick in, and that’s the case here.”

Renner himself has since given fans an update, revealing that he broke thirty bones in the incident.

In a post on Instagram, he wrote: “Morning workouts, resolutions all changed this particular new years …. Spawned from tragedy for my entire family, and quickly focused into uniting actionable love.

“I want to thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness for my family and I …. Much love and appreciation to you all. These 30 plus broken bones will mend, grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens. Love and blessings to you all.”
