Fans have been speculating for months, but finally it has been confirmed that Bad Boys 4 is officially happening.

The news came in the form of an Instagram video shared to both Will Smith’s and Martin Lawrence’s accounts.

The clip began showing Smith getting in the car and driving.

“I wish I was you not knowing what I was about to show me,” he said to the camera, before pulling in towards what turns out to be Lawrence’s house.

“It’s about that time,” the Big Momma’s House star says as he answers the door.

“It’s official! Bad Boys 4 Life, y’all!” Smith then confirmed to the camera, while the pair hugged and jumped about, evidently buzzing about the news.

They went on to joke about how the third film was named Bad Boys for Life, and how in hindsight that might not have been the most intelligent of names, considering a fourth movie is now on the way.

Per IGN, the flick is still untitled, but Sony have announced that directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are set to return to the franchise, as is Chris Bremner to write the script.

Jerry Bruckheimer, Will Smith for Westbrook, Doug Belgrad, and Chad Oman are set to produce the film, with Martin Lawrence, James Lassiter, Mike Stenson, Barry Waldman, and Jon Mone acting as exectutive producers.

The first Bad Boys movie came out over twenty-seven years ago back in 1995, and its sequel followed in 2003. The third movie took a whopping seventeen years to hit screens though, as it was released a few short years ago in 2020.
