Conor McGregor has seemingly responded to Liam Neeson’s comments branding him a “little leprechaun.”

In a recent interview with Men’s Health, where he opened up on a range of topics including Star Wars, dieting, and the UFC, Liam Neeson made it obvious that he is not a fan of Conor McGregor.

“That little leprechaun Conor McGregor, he gives Ireland a bad name,” the seventy-year-old actor told the publication, adding: “I know he’s fit, and I admire him for that. But I can’t take it.”

Neeson also expressed his dislike for the UFC in general, saying that he “can’t stand” the company.

“That to me is like a bar fight,” the actor said. “I know the practitioners are like, ‘No, you’re wrong — the months of training we do …’ Why don’t you just grab a beer bottle and hit the other guy over the head? That’s the next stage of the UFC. I hate it.”

Despite not responding to his comments directly, McGregor did share a Tweet that seemed to address the actor’s comments. Taking to the social media platform shortly after Neeson’s interview dropped, he wrote: “Irish proud – always,” along with an Irish flag.

And it seems fans have picked up on the whole drama between the two, with one writing on Twitter: “This Liam Neeson and Conor McGregor business has gone completely out of hand.”

While another joked: “McGregor must not know that Liam Neeson has a particular set of skills…”

However, a third was clearly pretty annoyed by Neeson’s comments: “Not like an actor to speak on a subject they have no experience or knowledge about with a level of self-righteousness when all they do is pretend to be someone else for an hour and a half.”

This comes after McGregor was recently involved in a car crash while riding his bike.

The star took to Instagram moments after the accident, to reveal what had happened, he posted a photo as well as two videos of the incident, writing in the caption of his post: “Got a bang of a car just now from behind.

“A sun trap, the driver couldn’t see me. Full spreed straight thru me. Thank you God, it wasn’t my time.

“Thank you wrestling and judo also. Having an awareness on the landing saved my life.”

In the video, that he also uploaded on his Instagram feed, McGregor showed the aftermath of the incident.

Gasping, McGregor took out his phone to film his bike lying in the middle of the road as the man driving the car, that was also involved in the collision, gets out of the vehicle and approaches him.

Clearly both men were shaken up by the accident, and the man can be heard apologising to McGregor, who replies: “All good mate, all good. Don’t worry about it.”

McGregor is then heard saying: “That’s nasty. I could have been dead there,” before adding: “all good.”

“I’m totally sorry – seriously,” the man responds.

The video left fans in total shock, one wrote: “Glad you are alright. Even more amazing is your calmness in the face of an accident. Someone who truest understands what an accident is. God bless you Connor. Again, glad you are ok.”

While another said: “Imagine the shock of hitting someone off there bike and then it turns out to be Connor like I can’t imagine that fella telling his wife this story tonight at the table.”
