For more than 2 years, Alison Hammond has kept her relationship with boyfriend Ben Hawkins a secret; this includes their engagement and impending nuptials.
The This Morning star and Ben Hawkins have been dating for over 2 years, although they were only just seen together in public for the very first time recently.
Ben’s father Colin Hawkins claims that although the couple has made a proposal, they do not yet have engagement rings.
“I do know they have both proposed to one another but there are no rings that I know of,” he told the Mail Online.
He added: “I love Alison to bits. She’s the nicest woman we’ve ever met. I would love to tell you a load of stories and they are all good, but I can’t because she’s asked us to keep things private.”
“What I do know is that when it happens none of us will know about it because it’ll be done in private. That much they have told me,” he said. “I know they will get it together and I won’t be there to see it but it will be a very proud day for me. I will be Alison’s father-in-law and that’ll be lovely.”
When it comes to the story of how the loved-up pair first met, It’s said that Alison hired Ben to do some gardening work at her home in Birmingham, and after that, their romance blossomed.
While they have kept their relationship private, former Big Brother contestant Alison has shared before that she is dating “someone special,” although kept the details on the down low.
She told My Weekly magazine: “There’s someone special and if he wants to pop the question, he can pop away.”
She also previously opened up in a podcast interview, where she discussed how she got her man.
“You want to know how I got him? I just said, ‘Babes, do you think you can handle this juice?!’,” she said.
She continued: “He’s like ‘I’m all over it!’”
She continued by discussing her connection and added: “You’ve got to be confident, haven’t you? When you see someone and you think, ‘that is my person’, you’ve got to go for it.
“You can’t let that person go. When I see someone, I think ‘that is my person’.”
She was then asked: “Like love at first sight vibes? Was yours love at first sight?
“A little bit yeah,” she said, adding: “I don’t think it was love at first sight on their front…”
