Hollywood Actress Looks Unrecognisable As She Rides The Tube
Recently, Catherine Zeta-Jones and her husband Michael Douglas have been visiting London, and the Wednesday actress was recently spotted taking a trip on the Tube.
Even though the couple is about to return to their opulent $4.7 million New York house or their expansive vacation home in Mallorca, it will be a sad moment for Catherine, as she was born and raised in the UK and even completed her musical theatre studies there, which is where her career began.
On their last night in London Catherine and Michael went on a romantic date. The star posted a video of their outing on Instagram where she filmed the restaurant and panned around the room.
In a short caption, she wrote: “Good Bye London! And we will see you soon!”
Her fans were quick to respond to her post with messages of support, one wrote: “Hoping you and Michael had a terrific time in the UK: you totally brought your old-school glamour to this side of the pond and rocked the red carpet… safe travels, Catherine!”
A second commented: “Swansea and America’s royalty from both parts of the world both legends,” a third added: “Hope you both had a lovely time, even though you had some work commitments and hopefully got to spend some quality time together.”
As some will already be aware, Michael played Hank Pym in the latest Marvel movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and the two were in the country to attend the premiere.
But before they returned home, there was one thing Catherine had to do to get one last taste of London…
Take the Tube, obviously!
You simply can’t visit London without taking a ride on the London Underground, and that’s exactly where the star was spotted on Tuesday. In order to avoid being surrounded by other passengers, she even managed to get a whole carriage to herself.
She posted a video of herself in a classic celeb disguise with a pair of glasses and a hat. Speaking to the camera she said: “When you’re the only one on the tube and you’re very happy. London, just me, on public transport.” She captioned the clip: “Tube Time! London Transport!”
It didn’t take long for her post to be flooded with comments from fans, with one writing: “OMG! Imagine being on the tube and sitting opposite you is Catherine Zeta Jones! I’d probably forget to breathe and be totally speechless with how shook I would be.”
While another said: “Gets on the tube, sees someone that looks like CZT would stare for the full journey and still think it couldn’t possibly be her! Gets home, opens Instagram and realises you just sat opposite your childhood crush 😂 this would be me 100%.”
“When you can have anything you like in life, sometimes you just want to be anonymous and just re-live those early days of youth when you were just starting out,” a third added.
However, not everyone was so star struck, another wrote: “She does it because it’s away of getting more attention, any celebrity with pots of money could get more attention if they used public transport. . If she didn’t want the publicity she could so easily have worn a wig and sun glass kept her head down. A lot of fading stars do this.”
