Tommy Fury is set to take home a whopping amount of money for his recent win against YouTuber turned-boxer Jake Paul.

Their fight follows two unsuccessful efforts to set up a boxing contest between them.

The first scheduled fight between YouTuber Paul and Fury — the half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson — occurred in 2021, but Fury pulled out due to an infection and broken rib. And then in August of last year, travel complications stopped the twenty-three-year-old from visiting the States to compete against Paul, aged twenty-six.

Given that they had been criticising one another on social media for the last few years, Jake and Tommy were both determined to “finish” the other when they eventually faced up.

Their fight was finally confirmed to be taking place on February 26 at the Diriyah Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and it was a night to remember.

After defeating Jake Paul in their titanic boxing match last night, Tommy Fury is expected to win a sizable sum of money.

If Paul prevailed, he would have received $3.2 million (£2.7 million) in prize money and sixty-five percent of the total pay-per-view revenue, according to Sports Zion.

With his sponsorships, he would have earned a salary of $8.6 million (£7.2 million) which is a colossal amount.

Yet according to reports, his British rival will receive $2 million (£1.7 million) and thirty-five percent of the pay-per-view after winning, a lot less than his counterpart, albeit still incredible.

However, before the fight, Paul proposed a sizable “double or nothing” contract idea.

He warned the UK boxer that if he lost their eight-round battle, Fury would have to give him his whole paycheck, however, if he won, Paul would give him double.

Earlier this week, Paul said: “Bring out the contract, lawyers already drafted it up this week. And like I said, if I can reiterate: if I win, I take all the money you’re being paid. If you win, I double it up.”

If the figures are accurate, Fury will now walk away with a whopping $9 million (£7.5 million), which is not bad for a single night.

After hearing the news, fans took to social media to share their thoughts, with one writing: “From what I see of the fight, Jake seemed scared to move towards Tommy and spent most his time with his arms wrapped him. I think Paul knew if he went toe to toe properly with Fury he was going to get his a** handed to him in public.”

While another commented: “Moneymaker first fight made out like grudge match then second will be even worse to ramp up the cash then both will walk away with millions, Seem like a stage show to me they both should go to Corrie or EastEnders

“The fact that either of them is making so much money off that fight is embarrassing.

I’ve seen better fights in the school playground, better technique as well,” a third added.

What did you make of the fight?
