Oh my Christ…

Gavin and Stacy actors Alison and Larry, who famously played Pam and Mick in the hit show are reuniting once again for a brand new series.

The news that two of the program’s stars would be returning to Barry Island for a brand-new show has left fans of the comedy sitcom over the moon.

The actors who portrayed Gavin’s parents, Mick and Pam Shipman, in the popular BBC series are slated to make a major television comeback this summer.

To pay homage to their time on Gavin and Stacey, the two actors will be deviating from their usual comedy roots in this three-part series, and embarking on a 210-mile trek from Billericay, Essex, to Barry, Wales.

The pair opened up about the new series in a recent interview, in which Alison said: “I can’t wait to take this trip down memory lane to explore Pam and Mick’s neck of the woods, as well as so many other locations precious to me.

“And who better to do it with than Larry! I’m so excited to be reunited,” she added.

Larry then shared: “I am really looking forward to reminiscing with Alison whilst taking the trip from Billericay to Barry, it was such a huge part in the plot of Gavin and Stacey.

“This journey holds a special place in my heart and I hope the fans are pleased with it.”

And with news of a new show on the cards, many fans have been sharing their hopes of a Gavin and Stacy revival, however, it doesn’t look like that will be happening.

The co-creator of the show, Ruth Jones stated that there are no plans to revive the cult favorite program in an interview with The Independent last year. She said: “It’s almost like you mention the words Gavin and Stacey and people assume it’s back. But it’s not,” she said.

She added: “I’m sure, at some point, James [Corden] and I will write something together. But it won’t be Gavin and Stacey.

“Certainly, when he’s back in the UK, I would have thought we would try and get together and write again because it was such fun to do that,” she said in reference to Corden’s big move from America back to the UK after ending his time on the Late Late Show.

Despite this, there’s no doubt Alison and Larry will be joined by some of our favorite cast members during their new series, however, we’ll just have to wait and see if that actually happens.

And fans are already thrilled to hear the news, with one writing: “This may possibly be the best news this year so far.”

While another said: “They would make a great comedy pair.”

However, not everyone is impressed, a third commented: “We don’t want a new show we just want to know what Smithy said.”

Another added: “I’m so disappointed, I thought they were making a new series, not two of them reminiscing to boost their bank accounts.”

Alison & Larry: Billericay To Barry will hit screens on Gold this summer.

We can’t wait to watch it!
