Michael Jackson’s Son Blanket Reinvented Himself And Changed His Name

The son of Michael Jackson, known globally as Blanket, has remained firmly out of the public eye since the death of his father in 2009…

But now, after a name change and a lavish property investment in California, the twenty-one-year-old has evidently reinvented himself.

Blanket, who was born Prince Michael Jackson II, was initially thrown into the spotlight after a famed incident with his father.

On November 2nd, 2002, the infamous pop star was seen dangling Blanket, who was just a few months old at the time, over the edge of the balcony of his room at the Hotel Adlon in Berlin to the crowds of paparazzi below.

Since that very public scene, Blanket has worked hard to establish his own identity and become the man he is today, away from his late father’s shadow.

However, although he tries to stay out of the spotlight, he has been more vocal in recent years and did encourage action against climate change, making a rare public appearance in November 2021 alongside his older siblings.

In the appearance with Good Morning Britain back in November, they each discussed their choice to return to the spotlight, saying that they came together to take action to safeguard the environment.

He spoke on his father’s legacy in the much-anticipated interview, and said: “There’s a lot of really cool stuff here, there’s a lot of history here in this house and the studio here, that’s what he was all about. That’s what each of us want to do, make some things that people hopefully enjoy but also that benefit their lives. I do think it’s important that we all know about [climate change], I think we have some work to do, but our generation knows how important it is.”

And recently he’s had a total rebrand, changing his name that he goes by to Bigi and buying a pretty impressive property.

Blanket has invested in a $2.7 million California mansion. His new home is said to boast 6 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, and a huge swimming pool, as well as celebrity neighbors like Kim Kardashian.

However, he’s not strayed far from home as his grandmother and guardian, Katherine is said to live just down the road in another gated community in the area.

After hearing the news fans have been very supportive of him, with one saying: “So inspiring, you don’t get to see him on press very often, so this is gold!!! Nice to see a famous young man who is not on TikTok, p*mps&h*’s, dr*gs, and his Gucci bag for a change, we need more young humans like this.”

While another commented: “The media would have loved MJs kids to be selfish, greedy, substance abusing, lay-about, entitled brats…but bad luck…they’re exactly as MJ raised them – caring, kind, eloquent, intelligent, level-headed individuals. Wonderful to see them protecting & carrying on MJ’s legacy.”

“Phenomenal young man. Michael Jackson was a great father, of what I’ve seen from these interviews his sons are living examples of this,” a third echoed.

What do you make of his new name?
