Ashley Graham Reacts To ‘Rude’ And ‘Awkward’ Hugh Grant Interview

Hugh Grant’s embarrassing Oscars interview, which left many viewers squirming, has received a response from Ashley Graham.

Now, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presented the 2022 film nominees for the 95th Academy Awards this Sunday at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles… and what a night it was.

At the ceremony, the 23 category winners were announced, with Four awards going to German movie All Quiet on the Western Front, including Oscars for best original score, production design, cinematography, and international feature.

Best visual effects went to Avatar: The Way of Water, while Best Sound went to Top Gun: Maverick.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever won for costume design, while Navalny won for outstanding documentary film.

Pinocchio, directed by Guillermo del Toro, received the prize for best-animated feature, and Sarah Polley’s Women Talking took home the prize for best-adapted screenplay.

But arguably the most emotional part of the night was when The Whale won Brendan Fraser the award for best actor in a leading role.

However, the best-performing film had to be Everything Everywhere All at Once. It had the most 2023 Oscar nominations (11) going into the program, winning seven.

Not only did it win best picture, but it also won three acting awards for Michelle Yeoh as best leading actress, Ke Huy Quan as best supporting actor, and Jamie Lee Curtis as best supporting actress.

The movie also took home awards for best original script, best director (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), and best film editing (Paul Rogers).

But it seems there’s something else about the night that has got people talking, and it has nothing to do with the awards…

A clip of Hugh Grant being interviewed by Oscars co-host Ashley Graham got everyone feeling uncomfortable.

Grant and Graham were conversing outside the Dolby Theatre before the big event, and it seemed that Grant started to become agitated at the very start of her line of questioning, when Graham referred to the star as a ‘veteran of the Oscars.’

It went downhill from there.

He was then asked about his favorite thing about the Oscars, to which he replied: “Well, it’s fascinating… the whole of humanity is here. It’s vanity fair.”

And that wasn’t all, Grant responded simply, “Just my suit,” when asked what he was wearing on the red carpet, which is a very standard inquiry for the Oscars. Then, when asked who he was cheering for, he was just as brusque, saying, “No one in particular.”

The whole thing was uncomfortable to watch, and viewers picked up on the tense exchange, with one writing: “Is Hugh Grant just an arrogant d**k all the time? He was so rude to Ashley Graham on the red carpet, complete with an eye roll. Maybe he should stay home if he’s too good for his industry of choice.”

While another commented: “I don’t understand this from Hugh Grant. If you don’t want to be interviewed, don’t take the mic, smile politely and keep walking. Kudos to @ashleygraham for trying repeatedly to get something interesting out of him.”

But now, Ashley Graham has spoken out about the awkward encounter…

Talking to TMZ, she simply shared: “You know what, my momma told me to kill people with kindness, so there you go.”
