One horror movie that came out in theaters late last year has left some viewers a little too traumatized, so much so, it has caused people to pass out.
Even though watching them is hardly a pleasant experience, there’s something about horror movies that we all just love.
The adrenaline rush many of us get from the sheer force of being scared makes horror the most exhilarating movie genre there is.
But there’s nothing more frustrating than getting yourself all prepared for a true fear-fest and then ending up disappointed.
However, it seems the latest horror movie, lasting a whopping 2.5 hours, doesn’t have that problem, as it’s received raving reviews from terrified viewers.
Now, horror films in general are made to linger within you. When you walk out of the movie theater following a horror movie, it’s a struggle to pivot your thoughts. It’s all you can think about. This is for a reason.
Horror filmmakers know exactly how and when to make you jump out of your seat, whether it was something scary or oftentimes, absolutely nothing.
Many consider horror to be the most trope-laden genre in all of film. Watching a horror movie at times feels like a checklist of events guaranteed to occur.
However, that’s not the case with Terrifier 2, which came out on the big screen last year. It has received rave reviews from horror fans, even scoring a whopping ninety-one percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes in its first week.
In the movie, set on Halloween night, we watch as a young girl and her brother are tormented by a killer clown named Art.
The movie is allegedly so gruesome and violent in parts that some cinema staff have had to call ambulances out for viewers who have passed out because of the gore.
Some are calling it the “most depraved” movie of all time…
One fan took to Twitter after watching and wrote: “Terrifier 2 is now in theatres and it’s likely the bloodiest, bonkers, most brutal horror flick you’ll see all year.
“An epic 2.5 hours of gory mayhem that annihilates boundaries.
“If you were a fan of the first film, don’t miss your chance to see this on the big screen.”
Another Twitter user explained that someone sat behind them “passed out cold.” They wrote: “Terrifier 2 was an amazing gory mess. The guy behind me passed out cold and crashed into my chair, another guy left because he didn’t feel good, I overheard him say, and walking out the theatre door I heard a guy puking hard and loud in the bathroom.”
The gore is so bad that even Steve Barton, a producer on the film, posted a warning on Twitter for those planning on watching.
He wrote: “This movie contains scenes of graphic violence and brutal depictions of horror. Viewers who are faint of heart, prone to light-headedness, or have weak stomachs are advised to take extreme caution. There have already been numerous instances of fainting and vomiting in theatres. For those choosing to continue, you have been warned…”
Have you seen it yet, what do you think?
