Grimes Says She’s Changed Her And Elon Musk’s Daughter’s Name To A Symbol

Grimes has announced that she and Elon Musk have changed their daughter’s name to something even more bizarre…

Now, Grimes is known for being pretty eccentric. The artist, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, is a singer-songwriter from Canada.

She began releasing music way back in the 2000s, going on to release her first 2 albums, Geidi Primes, and Halfaxa, in 2010.

However, she began to see an increase in popularity after her third studio album, Visions, in 2012. This propelled her into the spotlight, with the singles ‘Genesis’ and ‘Oblivion’ becoming fan favorites.

Her fourth studio album, Art Angels, was released in 2015 and was subsequently named album of the year. Her latest album is Miss Anthropocene, which was released in 2020.

Grimes’ music has been described as a mix between lo-fi R&B and futuristic dance pop.

And as well as gaining a platform from her music, she is also known for being a gamer.

The singer has even voiced a character in the 2020 RPG video game Cyberpunk 2077.

But outside of her working life, the star has gained publicity for her unique image. As well as her relationship with multi-billionaire Elon Musk, with whom she shares 2 children.

The pair began dating in 2018 and welcomed a son named X Æ A-Xii back in May 2020.

Although they have had to change his name because their original choice was not permitted by law.

The baby’s name has since been changed to X Æ A-Xii.

“In California, you can only use the 26 characters of the English language in your baby name,” attorney David Glass told People.

“Thus, you can’t have numbers, Roman numerals, accents, umlauts or other symbols or emojis. Although an apostrophe, for a name like ‘O’Connor,’ is acceptable.

“They have an opportunity to appeal the rejection of the birth certificate application but it’s unlikely that it will be granted because, again, California… has been struggling with using symbols.”

Sadly the pair are no longer together, and Grimes addressed their breakup in an interview with Vanity Fair

Later taking to Twitter to share the news herself, she wrote: “Me and E have broken up *again* since the writing of this article, haha.

“But he’s my best friend and the love of my life. And my life and art are forever dedicated to The Mission now, I think Devin wrote that part of the story really well. Sique – peace out.”

Talking out about being a mother, Grimes also shared in a video for Vogue: “I think having a baby was a big rebirth for me, like, artistically.”

“Being a mother feels weird to say. For some reason, I don’t identify with that word.”

Before their split, the pair also welcomed a baby daughter into the world, and Grimes has recently announced they’ve already changed her name.

Exa Dark Sideræl, who was born via surrogate in March this year, has had her name shortened.

“She’s Y now,” Grimes wrote on Twitter, “Or ‘Why?’ or just ‘?’”

“(But the government won’t recognize that).curiosity, the eternal question,  .. and such.”

What do you make of the potential name change?
