Tom Daley and his husband Dustin Lance Black have announced the birth of their second son.
The news comes after the pair welcomed their first child via surrogacy back in June 2018.
Now, Daley is one of the UK’s biggest sporting exports. The twenty-eight-year-old first rocked onto the diving scene when he was just 7 years old, and began competing both nationally and internationally by the time he was 9 years old.
By 2008, he was competing in the Olympics as the youngest competitor for the British team, aged just fourteen years old.
Then, when the games came to his home country in 2012, Daley even managed to achieve his first ever Olympic bronze. He went on to repeat this huge achievement in the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo.
Aside from his sporting prowess, Daley has made a name for himself in the world of YouTube, where he has been creating videos since 2010, managing to rack up an impressive 1.2 million subscribers in the process!
It was on this channel that the star first spoke out about his sexuality, and announced that he had been in a relationship with a man since earlier that year.
“It really was love at first sight, I’d never felt like anything like it before,” he confessed, per ITV News.
“We were at a party and I hadn’t even spoken to him all night. I didn’t know what to do or if he was gay at first. I made the first move, I typed ‘call me’ in his notes with a smiley face on this phone and the next day he texted.
“He makes me feel safe and happy, right now I couldn’t be happier. I’d never felt the feeling of love, it happened so quickly, I was completely overwhelmed by it to the point I can’t get him out of my head all the time. I’ve never had it before where I love someone and they love me just as much.”
In 2015, it was announced that Daley was engaged to Dustin Lance Black, who is known for his work as a screenwriter and director. The pair married in 2017, and welcomed their first child in 2018.
Their fairytale romance just keeps getting better and better, with them having just announced the birth of their second son via surrogate.
Per The Huffington Post, Daley and his husband confirmed the birth of their second child in a statement to The Times.
It said: “Black-Daley on 28th March to Thomas Robert Daley and Dustin Lance Black, a son, Phoenix Rose.”
