Keanu Reeves Has Just One Rule For Returning With John Wick 5

Keanu Reeves has just one rule in order for him to return to the John Wick franchise for a fifth movie…

Now, Reeves is already a legend of Hollywood. From his iconic role as Neo in The Matrix, to his stellar performance as Johnny Utah in Point Break, there is no need to go on about how Reeves is one of the best in the business.

However, it seems that the Canadian actor is just about to top even his own catalogue with the release of his latest movie, John Wick: Chapter 4.

The John Wick movies have been a staple of modern cinema for a good few years now, since the release of the first flick, titled simply John Wick, back in 2014.

The Reeves-fronted franchise follows the title character, a former hitman who has no choice but to return to the criminal underworld that he left behind years before. The first movie proved to be a huge success, and John Wick: Chapter 2 and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum followed in 2017 and 2019, respectively.

But now, the series’ fourth movie has arrived, and both critics and fans are all over it, hailing it as one of the greatest action movies of all time.

The hugely anticipated film sees Wick attempt to escape the clutches of the High Table, and try to earn back his freedom from the criminal syndicate.

The world premiere took place in Leicester Square in London recently, and the movie has proven itself to be everything fans hoped it would be. Just be aware, there are some spoilers up ahead, so tread carefully if you’re yet to see it for yourself!

One person said: “John Wick: Chapter 4 pushes the envelope in the action genre as we know it. The cast is STACKED and the fight scenes are dynamic! After 4 movies, you’d think there’d be some fatigue. This is not the case, you’ll just have to see it for yourself.”

Another wrote in their review: “I was blown away by many of the action sequences in #JohnWickChapter4. This is definitely the biggest & most badass JOHN WICK movie yet w/ a runtime near 3 hours & an ending everyone will be talking about. No one does action like this – it’s on another level. Part 4 simply rules.”

And it turns out, Reeves has made a lot of money from the latest installment. He made thousands for every word he said in the film.

In Chapter 4, he speaks just 380 words. According to the Wall Street Journal, his longest “speech” in the film is, “You and I left a good life behind a long time ago, my friend.” Reeves received $552,622 for just that alone.

And if the reports are right, that’s a crazy amount of money. Morning Brew tweeted: “Keanu Reeves said just 380 words in John Wick: Chapter 4, and he reportedly made $15 million. Trusting reports of his pay, that’s $39,473 per word.”

However, despite the hefty pay packet, there is no guarantee of Reeves returning to the franchise. In fact, the end of the fifth film makes it look rather unlikely he will return, seeing as the movie ends with Wick looking like he’s on death’s door.

But in the case there is another movie, there is one rule that Reeves has in order to make a reappearance – and that’s that it must be directed by Chad Stahelski.

Via UNILAD, he said: “I don’t know, I guess I’m going to have to lean on never say never. I mean, I wouldn’t do a John Wick film without Chad Stahelski. We’d have to see what that looked like. For me, it feels really right that John Wick finds peace.”

Although the fate of a fifth movie still remains to be seen, it’s nice to know that Reeves would in fact be willing to return to the beloved franchise!
