Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are without a doubt the hottest parents right now, and the couple have finally revealed the name of their baby boy.
The pair welcomed their first child back in May 2022, but have kept the name secret since he was born.
It comes after the ‘Umbrella’ singer announced she was pregnant for a second time during the Super Bowl earlier this year.
Rihanna performed on the Super Bowl stage as the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs were playing at the State Farm Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
However, if social media is anything to go off, fans were more interested in figuring out whether Rihanna was expecting a child than the halftime show itself, thanks to her mysterious belly-rubbing that kicked the show off.
Given the birth of her son the previous year, Rihanna acknowledged that she had to give her decision to perform at the big game some thought, but that motherhood eventually drove her to take the stage for the much-anticipated halftime performance.
She said: “When you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you could take on the world — you can do anything.
“And the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, so as scary as that was … there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all.
“It’s important for my son to see that.”
She added that it would be challenging to fit all of her hits into such a short performance and that she had to carefully consider which anthems would make the cut.
“The setlist was the biggest challenge. That was the hardest part — deciding how to maximize thirteen minutes, but also celebrate. That’s what the show’s going to be — it’s going to be a celebration of my catalog in the best way,”
“I think we did a pretty good job at narrowing it down.” she added.
But now, attention has turned towards Rihanna’s son who was born back in May last year, as the baby boy’s name has finally been revealed!
The Daily Mail reports that the birth certificate names the little one as RZA Athelston Mayers. RZA seems to come from the name of the leader of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan.
Fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the reveal of Rihanna and A$AP’s choice of name.
“RZA!! Yesssssss,” one person shared.
Another said: “I am sure RZA from the wu-tang crew feels honored. Like Rakim felt when ASAP Rocky mother named him after Rakim IJS. Powerful!!”
However, not everyone loved it…
One person said: “Okay I understand you want honour him but why would you name your kid that? I’m sorry I wouldn’t do that but I guess that just me lol.”
A second commented: “Celebrities have a real hard time giving their kids a normal a** name don’t they.”
