Chris Pratt Receives Backlash For His Mother’s Day Post For Katherine Schwarzenegger

Chris Pratt has been met with backlash after he shared a Mother’s Day post for his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger.

The star has 3 children, 2 daughters with Schwarzenegger and one son with his ex-wife Anna Faris.

However, Pratt’s Mother’s Day post has been called out for ‘dissing’ Faris, who he divorced back in 2018 after 9 years of marriage.

Now, Pratt is an American actor best known for his work in film and television. He rose to prominence with his role as Andy Dwyer in the popular sitcom Parks and Recreation.

However, since then he has gone on to become one of the biggest names in Hollywood, with starring roles in Jurassic World, The Super Mario Bros Movie and, of course, the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.

He is also noted for his religious views, having been raised Lutheran and eventually ending up a member of the Zoe Church in LA, which is affiliated with the Hillsong Church.

Pratt recently opened up to Page Six about how his religion helps him deal with haters, agreeing that he has been criticised as a result of his outspoken faith.

“I sure do but that’s nothing new, that’s nothing new, you know?” Pratt told the outlet.

If I was of this world, they would love me just like that but as it is, I’ve chosen out of this world. That’s John 15:18 through 20,” the forty-three-year-old continued.

“That’s the way it is, nothing new, 2,000 years ago they hated him, too,” he added.

Pratt met his now wife Katherine Schwarznegger while at their local church.

“Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go,” he wrote back in 2019 announcing their engagement.

The pair married in June of that year, and now have 2 children together.

On this Mother’s Day, the forty-three-year-old actor took to Instagram to share his thanks to Schwarzenegger and ‘all of the mothers out there’. However, Pratt’s failing to name the mother of his first child, Anna Faris, in the post has caused controversy amongst fans.

“Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there,” he began

“Especially grateful today for Katherine. You’re a wonderful partner. You’ve provided me such a blessed life. Our two daughters are so lucky to have you and you’re the best step mama to Jack.

“And to my mom, Kathy, you raised us with such love and light and laughter— so grateful for you today and always.

“And to Maria, the best Mama G, I’m lucky to have you as a mother-in-law. And to all of the other moms in my life, I’m so grateful for all you do- thank you so much. Hope you feel celebrated today.”

In the comments of the post, Pratt has received criticism from fans for naming so many different mothers, but not one with whom he shares a child.

“No mention of the mom of your first child… sad,” one person wrote.

Another said: “If you have a good co-parenting relationship that i’s about the kids, you DO wish the mother of your children a Happy Mother’s Day. Your kid will learn it later and resent you for it.”

While a third wrote: “Wow. Dissing your ex-wife. Be a better man and mention her as well, the mother of your child. Even that football dude mentioned his 2 baby mommas. I just watched the first 2 Guardians & was all in your court. Now, I gotta unfollow you. Tsk tsk.”

However, some fans jumped to Pratt’s defence, with one writing: “All of those people making comments about Chris’s ex-wife, she never made a Father’s Day post about him after they broke up either.

“Double standards and making him a villain over nothing. If it’s your ex-partner you shouldn’t have to include them in anything unless you see fit. I’d do the same.”

It comes after Pratt faced criticism for thanking his wife for a “gorgeous healthy daughter,” which some felt was a dig at his ex-wife.

His and Faris’ son Jack was born prematurely with “severe brain bleeding,” and the first few years of his life were “filled with doctor’s appointments, five surgeries [and] physical therapy,” as per People.
