Marvel ‘Changed All Of Its Plans’ So Jonathan Majors Could Be The Centre Of The Universe

The Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to churn out smash hit after smash hit — and their popularity seems only set to grow with latest movies such as The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania being a huge success.

And it seems Jonathan Majors will be a huge part going forward.

According to a source, Marvel Studios ‘changed all of its plans’ in order to make Jonathan Majors the focal point of their movie universe.

The actor initially made an appearance in Loki‘s season one finale, when he was predicted to become the MCU’s main antagonist as the MCU’s Phase 6 approached.

However, the 33-year-old’s future with the franchise became uncertain, as he was later detained and charged with assault, leaving fans wondering what Marvel is going to do about his character.

Alongside Tom Hiddleston, Majors played He Who Remains in the Disney+ series. The character subsequently revealed himself to be the evil Kang the Conqueror later in the episode.

Many fans expected Majors to be the next villain, but no one was prepared for his captivating speech, leaving everyone hoping he’d have a bigger part in the MCU.

With his highly anticipated appearance in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, and Marvel writing him into the next Avengers film, The Kang Dynasty, dozens have shared their love for the character and his incredible storyline.

But Majors wasn’t always meant to be such a big part of the MCU, it was only after his performance that producers realised what an amazing part he could play in future films.

Author Joanna Robinson asserted that Marvel changed its plans after watching Major’s performance, spilling all in her upcoming book MCU: The Regin of Marvel Studios.

She told The Big Picture podcast: “I was told by someone who works for Marvel, it was not the plan to make Kang the center of everything until they saw the dailies from Quantumania and after his performance in Loki, which was so strong they were like, ‘This is it. This is our way forward. We’ve lost our varsity hero team, but let’s set up around this guy Kang and this performer that so many people are reacting to’.”

After losing so many cherished cast members in Endgame, Robinson claims that Marvel was aware of the ‘huge problem’ it was in and saw Majors as  a way to expand the universe.

She continued: “…what’s unprecedented in this for Marvel is, I would argue they have never hung so much of a franchise on one actor, as they tried to hang it on Jonathan Majors after his Loki performance and his Ant-Man: Quantumania performance….And that has put them in the bind.”

But things took a turn for the actor when he was charged with assault, and now his future with Marvel is undecided.

“We do not know what they are going to do. I’ve heard conflicting stories about they are going to replace him, they’re not even considering replacing him etc etc. But it’s just one more thing,” revealed Robinson.

So it looks like we’ll just have to wait and see.
