Tina Turner’s Final Post Was Utterly Heartbreaking

Rock and roll legend Tina Turner has died at the age of eighty-three at her home in Switzerland.

In the wake of her death, fans have been flocking to the legend’s social accounts in order to pay their respects, and they have noticed that her final post was heartbreaking.

Turner was known to have been suffering from a number of health issues, including having suffered cancer, a stroke and kidney failure in recent years.

The Tennessee native’s career was one which helped to define an era of music. She first rose to fame with hits such as ‘Proud Mary’ and ‘River Deep, Mountain High’ in the 1960s. During this time, she worked heavily with her husband Ike, but the pair divorced in 1978 after a tumultuous marriage which was marred by his abuse.

By the 1980s, Turner made a huge comeback to the music industry. In 1984, her track ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ hit number 1 on the Billboard charts, and even went on to win the Grammy for Record of the Year. Aged forty-four, this track made her the oldest woman to ever top the Billboard 100.

Her career continued to flourish, with tracks such as ‘GoldenEye’, ‘The Best’ and ‘Better Be Good To Me’ seeing Turner stay in the charts. She even went on to star in movies, such as Tommy and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. In 2018, her life story was adapted into a jukebox musical called Tina.

Her death was announced by her team in a heartbreaking Instagram post.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner,” it began.

“With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow. Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music.

“All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly.”

Fans have flocked to the post to share their condolences, but in doing so have noticed Turner’s final personal post on the social media site, and it’s truly heartbreaking.

In it, the star described how she wished she’d taken better care of her kidneys.

She wrote: “Today is International World Kidney Day. Why is it important? Because kidneys fail without pain. And that’s why I’m telling you today: Show your kidneys love! They deserve it.

“My kidneys are victims of my not realising that my high blood pressure should have been treated with conventional medicine. I have put myself in great danger by refusing to face the reality that I need daily, lifelong therapy with medication. For far too long I believed that my body was an untouchable and indestructible bastion.

“I am therefore delighted to be able to support a new international campaign for kidney health. You can read the whole story of my disease on the website http://www.showyourkidneyslove.com. Here you can find out how your kidneys work, what the risk factors are and how you can keep these important organs healthy. Let’s show our kidneys some love!”

In the comments, fans have been sharing stories of their own experience with kidney issues.

“I learned the hard way also. Lost my mother and best friend a year and a half ago to kidney disease related to high blood pressure,” one person wrote.

A second said: “Thank you for sharing Tina. I had kidney stones last year and elevated blood pressure. It took me totally by surprise.”
