Elliot Page has revealed that he shared a deep intimate connection with one of his co-stars in Juno, telling all in his new memoir, Pageboy.
It comes as Page also opened up about a secret relationship he had with a famous actress later on in his career.
In the book, he’s been pretty candid about his struggles and self exploration, revealing he had a relationship with one of his female co-stars while working on 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Page previously opened up about his past struggles with gender dysphoria he used to struggle with, and how that has changed since top surgery.
The thirty-six-year-old first revealed that he had top surgery back in 2021.
It came after The Umbrella Academy star announced that he was transgender in 2020 with a touching statement shared to his socials.
“I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot,” it read.
“I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life.
“I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey. I can’t begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self.
He continued: “I’ve been endlessly inspired by so many in the trans community. Thank you for your courage, your generosity and ceaselessly working to make this world a more inclusive and compassionate place. I will offer whatever support I can and continue to strive for a more loving and equal society.”
Since coming out, Page has acted as somewhat of a spokesperson for the trans community, speaking out on issues such as access to healthcare.
In one of his latest sInstagram posts, he opened up about how his own gender affirming care benefitted him.
“Dysphoria used to be especially rife in the summer. No layers, just a T-shirt – or layers and oh so sweaty – constantly looking down, readjusting my oversized T,” Page writes.
He continued: “It feels so f’ing good soaking in the sun now, I never thought I could experience this, the joy I feel in my body. I am so grateful for what gender affirming care has allowed me and I look forward to sharing more of my journey soon. #transjoy.”
Fans have been wholeheartedly supportive of his journey of self discovery, and with the recent release of his memoir, many are thrilled to learn more about the star.
In the book, Page revealed that during his “time of exploration,” he was actually involved with a fellow celebrity.
While working on 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, he began a secret relationship with Kate Mara, admitting that she was “the first person I fell for after my heart was broken.”
Page shared that Mara “had a boyfriend at the time, the lovely and talented Max Minghella,” but that he was supportive of their exploration.
Page said Mara told him: “I never thought I could be in love with two people and now I know I can.”
He added: “I think my relationship, or whatever you want to call it with Kate, very much encapsulates a certain dynamic that I consistently found myself in, which was falling for people that – I think a lot of us do this – who aren’t fully available.”
But this wasn’t the only revelation, Page also opened up about a deep connection he shared with another co-star earlier on in his career, while filming the movie Juno.
An excerpt acquired by Page Six digs into a romance the actor had with one of his co-stars while they were filming.
The narrative describes Page’s initial impression of Olivia Thirlby, who, although being his age, seemed mature, capable, and collected.
He confesses to being surprised by her presence and portrays her as being sexually open, which contrasted with how he felt at the time. However, Page was drawn closer to her due to the apparent chemistry between them.
“I was taken aback the moment I saw Olivia Thirlby,” wrote Page. “Embodied and bold, her long brown hair moved in slow motion. We were the same age, but she seemed so much older, capable, and centered. Sexually open, far removed from where I was at the time.”
Page recalls their extensive time together, including a hangout where Thirlby openly confessed her interest to him. Page gives a detailed account of the event, claiming that they kissed passionately right away and began a close connection.
The actor goes on to say that they had a very physical relationship, and despite the difficulties they had in finding discreet locations, they were able to covertly explore their desires.
Page and Thirlby indulged in their relationship whether it was in Thirlby’s hotel room, their trailers on the set, or even a private room at a restaurant.
When looking back on such interactions, Page acknowledges that being intimate with Thirlby made him feel less ashamed. He admits he felt no judgement with her, which gave him a fresh feeling of optimism and freedom.
For Page, he said it was a critical turning point because he felt pleasure in a way he hadn’t previously experienced.
