Tom Holland has revealed that he and fellow Spiderman alumni, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, have a group chat together, which is rather aptly called The Spider Boys.
The trio rather iconically all came together in (spoiler alert!) Spider-Man: No Way Home back in 2021, but it seems they enjoyed each other’s company so much that they are still in touch.
Now, Holland’s rise to fame began when he was cast as the web-slinging superhero, Spider-Man, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Prior to this, Holland had made appearances in a few smaller-budget films and theatre productions. However, his portrayal of Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War and subsequent solo films, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, catapulted him to global stardom.
His youthful energy and charismatic performance have won over fans, and he has become a beloved figure both on and off-screen. Holland has since become a household name, and his success continues to rise with each new project he takes on.
However, Holland, like Maguire and Garfield, will always be known for his work as the spider superhero. That is why the news that the trio have a group chat called The Spider Boys has come as such welcome news to fans.
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Holland revealed that he regretted not reaching out to Garfield sooner after landing the role back in 2016.
“I was 19 when I got cast. I was so caught up in getting the role that I never took any time to think about what it must have been like for him,” he shared.
He added that it felt “wonderful” to get to work with both Garfield and Maguire for the 2021 movie.
“Myself, Andrew, Tobey — we have this amazing bond as three people who have been through something that is so unique that we really are like brothers,” he said.
“We have a great group chat and we catch up every now and then. It’s called the Spider-Boys.”
