As we previously reported, Euphoria actor Angus Cloud tragically died aged just 25, and now his mum has spoken out about his death, insisting he didn’t take his own life.
The terrible incident took place last week, inside his family’s Oakland home, prompting a swift reaction from the Oakland Police Department and Fire Department when Angus Cloud’s mother called 911 approximately 11:30 AM on Monday 31.
After receiving a report of a “possible overdose,” emergency personnel responded and found Angus unconscious and unresponsive.
They did everything they could to save him, but he was sadly declared dead at the scene.
To find out what caused his premature death, authorities have now launched a detailed inquiry.
His family expressed their tremendous sadness, writing in a statement: “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother, and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”
They also revealed that Angus had been dealing with very serious su****al thoughts since coming back from Ireland, where he had recently laid his father to rest. During this difficult time, he had sought comfort from his family in an effort to deal with the overwhelming pain.
Angus was upfront about his mental health issues, according to his family, and they hope that his loss would serve as a reminder to others that they are not alone and should seek treatment rather than fighting in silence. They also took some solace in the knowledge that Angus is now with his late father, who he loved and considered his greatest friend.
His death comes just two weeks after a heartbreaking Instagram post, in which Angus shared a photo of his late father along with the caption, “miss u breh.”
Dozens of fans have since shared their thoughts in the comment section, with one writing: “and now we miss you too.”
While another said: “You and pops are together now.”
“I hope you knew how loved you are. I wish this wasn’t real,” a third wrote.
And now, his mum has spoken out about her son’s death.
In a Facebook post, Lisa wrote how she believes he didn’t take his own life.
“Friends, I want you all to know I appreciate your love for my family at this shattered time.
“I also want you to know that although my son was in deep grief about his father’s untimely death from mesothelioma, his last day was a joyful one.
“He was reorganizing his room and placing items around the house with intent to stay a while in the home he loved.
“He spoke of his intent to help provide for his sisters at college, and also help his mom emotionally and financially.”
She then explained: “He did not intend to end his life. When we hugged goodnight we said how much we loved each other and he said he would see me in the morning [sic].”
She added: “I don’t know if or what he may have put in his body after that. I only know that he put his head on the desk where he was working on art projects, fell asleep and didn’t wake up.
“We may find out that he overdosed accidentally and tragically, but it’s abundantly clear that he did not intend to check out of this world.
“His struggles were real. He gave and received so much love and support to and from his tribe.”
She concluded: “Social media posts have suggested his death was intentional. I want you to know that is not the case.”
Our thoughts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.
Rest in peace, Angus Cloud.
