‘Jason Momoa without beard’ started trending on social media, confusing fans of the Aquaman actor.

The trending tweet was a photo, showing the actor’s appearances with and without his big moustache and beard, side by side. It should be emphasised that the picture of the actor that is going around was altered; Momoa did not actually remove his beard.

After viewing Jason Momoa’s altered photo, internet users were understandably perplexed. Many others responded by posting some amusing tweets to show their surprise at how different the actor appeared.

Dozens of fans commented, with one writing: “Of all the forces to conquer Jason Momoa, I never suspected the beardless photo would be responsible. Beards are a gift to aging dudes.”

While another said: “Beards do for men, the same thing makeup does for women. Creates an illusion.”

“This is a hilariously sensitive and dramatic stance on Jason Momoa’s beard (or lack thereof) may he forever grow facial hair!” a third quipped.

However, not everyone hated it, another added: “”Why am i attracted more to Jason Momoa without his beard?! Gosh, my man did put an impression on me. Clean chin = more attractive.”

Although the photo wasn’t actually real, Jason last shaved his beard for a movie role a few years ago, according to reports.

For his role as Duncan Idaho in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, Jason had a newly buzzed face from March 2019 through July of the same year.

He opened up about the decision to Newsweek: “That’s one of the first things Denis asked me.

“I think he felt a little nervous asking me that. But it just felt like, no one’s ever asked me to do that.”

He added: “He was like ‘I see Duncan as this’ and he had very good reasons why and I said ‘yeah, I think it’s smart.’

“I just had to grow it back for Aquaman 2 and for the other TV show I’m on, [titled] See.

“I just thought it kind of made sense to shave it, grow it back and we had time to do that. So it made sense. I did that for him. There are not many people I would do that for.”
