Everyone takes a different approach to first dates, however, I think we can all agree that asking for your dates bank information might be a little too forward for a first meeting.
But it seems one woman doesn’t agree. A TikToker recently revealed that she occasionally requests her dates’ bank account information right away, and her comments have understandably caused a lot of controversy.
There has been a lot of mixed responses to the viral clip.
When discussing her dating strategy on her podcast, Sofia with an F, American presenter Sofia Franklyn raised eyebrows with her open disclosure. In a snippet from a recent episode that she also published to her TikTok account, Sofia outlined her justification.
She said: “I’m not joking. I’ve asked the last three dudes I’ve dated for their bank account info on the first date.”
Leo Skepi, one of her guests, responded by questioning the motive behind the bold move. “I don’t judge people’s actions. I look at the intention behind it. So like, why do you ask for that?” he said, to which Sofia replied: “I only want to date a wealthy guy that has money. I think, you know, I have a job. I’m very successful. So I think I have every f*****g right to be like, ‘Hi, are we on the same level, or am I wasting my time?’”
She captioned her post on TikTok: “I think im just being efficient?”
However, it wasn’t long before viewers shared their thoughts on her controversial comments, with one writing: “Not sure love comes in the form of a dollar bill but at least ur straight forward.”
“Does love and genuine connection just not exist anymore?” a second questioned.
While another said: “Could have a billion dollars, if she asks this I’m leaving and not paying for the date lol.”
However, some agreed with her, “Absolutely 300% agree! You deserve to have a man on the same level as you!” a fourth wrote.
Another added: “My fiancé and I are matched equally. But, if I were single, I would need that person to be on my level. I agree with her for the most part.”
What do you think?
