Johnny Depp Makes A Return As The Face Of Dior Sauvage With A Whopping ‘$20M Payday’

Johnny Depp recently featured in Dior’s latest advertisement The Call Of The Blazing Sun for their hit fragrance, Sauvage.

And he’s earned a hefty sum for his appearance.

This comes after Johnny Depp was reportedly forced to take out a huge loan for repairs on his Hollywood home, following years of his $650 million fortune dwindling.

Per The Daily Mail, Depp took out a $10 million loan from City National Bank to repair his 8-bedroom Los Angeles home. The outlet reports that his finances have been struggling as a result of the expensive litigation against ex-wife Amber Heard, as well as reckless spending.

Despite taking out such a huge sum, it is reported that Depp currently spends the majority of his time on his island home in the Bahamas. He purchased the LA castle back in 1995, but it has fallen into disrepair as the star spends more time abroad.

Fans will be aware that in 2003’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Depp made his acting debut as pirate Jack Sparrow. He later returned to the character for the sequels Dead Man’s Chest, At World’s End, and On Stranger Tides before delivering his final performance in Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017).

However, this wasn’t meant to be the final film in the franchise, but after his ex-girlfriend, Amber Heard accused Johnny Depp of domestic abuse, the actor was fired from the franchise and later filed a defamation lawsuit in the US.

Depp won the $50 million lawsuit in the high-profile case, which was resolved last year, and this prompted supporters of the Hollywood actor to urge Disney to bring him back into the Pirates of the Caribbean universe.

And fans might get their wish after all, as based on his previous displays of support for the actor, it appears that producer Jerry Bruckheimer may be amenable to the concept of Depp making a return.

When Bruckheimer was questioned about the likelihood of a Depp comeback during a recent interview with Deadline, he responded: “He’s just so good at what he does and actors recover from things like this.

“He’s a good individual and he’s a caring individual. He’s somebody that you can rely on and he’s just terrific.

“I think Johnny is an utter friend and an amazing artist and, again, you go through things in life you wish you hadn’t, but he’s still a talented artist.”

Prior to this, Bruckheimer has also stated that he would “love” to have Depp return to the part.

When questioned by The Hollywood Reporter in 2022 on whether Disney will bring Depp back, Bruckheimer responded: “You’d have to ask them. I can’t answer that question. I really don’t know.

“I would love to have him in the movie.

“He’s a friend, a terrific actor and it’s unfortunate that personal lives creep into everything we do.”

Yet, when it was said that “Disney [was] very interested in patching up their relationship with Johnny Depp” in June of last year, officials for Depp quickly put an end to rumors about a comeback, with a rep for the star announcing “This is made up.”

Depp also made it very clear that he would not be returning to Disney during the defamation trial due to the way he was treated following Heard’s allegations.

When her attorney Ben Rottenborn inquired about the veracity of Depp’s statement that “if Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean film?” Depp confirmed, “That is true, Mr. Rottenborn.”

Despite this Sean Bailey, head of Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, recently spoke with The New York Times about the status of the sixth movie and left the door open for Depp’s prospective comeback.

“We think we have a really good, exciting story that honours the films that have come before but also has something new to say,” he said.

But it seems that Depp might not need to take any offers from Disney just yet, as his latest job has paid extremely well.

The star made a return as the face of Dior’s Sauvage in their latest ad, and he allegedly received a hefty $20 million for his apperance.

Fans were ecstatic after Christian Dior posted the advertisements online yesterday.

The actor reportedly signed a three-year deal worth “upwards of $20 million” in May, reaffirming his role as the face of the fragrance.

Dior famously supported Depp during the whole ordeal with his ex, Amber heard, and Sauvage even had an increase in sales at stores last year.

What do you make of the huge sum?
