Netflix Viewers Are Terrified After Every Episode Of This New Series

Netflix has done it again, they’ve added another must-watch to their horror selection, as dozens of fans have reported feeling frightened and uneasy after watching the series.

If you enjoy a good horror or thriller, Dear Child might just end up becoming your new fave, as according to reports, it’s really unsettling.

Dear Child is based on a novel of the same name by Romy Hausmann, which was originally published in German, therefore the first thing to note about the show is that it has been dubbed.

Dear Child has been adapted into a miniseries that follows a woman who attempts to find out what happened after she was seriously injured while running out of a forest.

As she runs through the woods, the woman is struck by a car, and she later awakens in a hospital in a pretty terrible condition.

She wakes up with no memory of her whereabouts , the amount of time she had been outside, or even her name.

However, as the series goes on, things start to become increasingly more unsettling.

The synopsis reads: “Escaping captivity in a basement, a young girl and her unconscious mother are found at the site of a car accident. But the regained freedom offers neither salvation nor security.

“Based on the bestseller by Romy Hausmann: the thriller series “Dear Child” with Kim Riedle, Naila Schuberth, Sammy Schrein, Haley Louise Jones, Hans Löw, Justus von Dohnányi and Julika Jenkins.”

Julian Pörksen, the co-writer and co-director, told Netflix’s Die Woche, “These are all damaged characters: people who are severely scarred by a crime and deal with it very differently. The perpetrator is often the focus of such series and is glorified as a mysterious, dark force. That’s not the case with us. And there is a main character who is extraordinary in every way. A girl who has a special view of the world, a special way of speaking, thinking and experiencing.”

Dozens of viewers have spoken out about the new show, with one writing: “Just watched Dear Child on Netflix. Definitely worth the watch. Excellent German-language thriller.”

While a second said: “I enjoyed it, had me anxious every episode.”

“I watched it yesterday and finished all at midnight. I like it and couldn’t stop,” a third wrote.

Another added: “Loved it but made me nervous.”

Have you watched it yet?
