Sleeping in the same bed as your partner can often become tiresome. From duvet hogging to one of you spending all night tossing and turning, there are a variety of reasons that you might not sleep well when lay next to your loved one.
Well, TikTok thinks it might have found the solution for your woes with what has been dubbed the Scandinavian sleep method thanks to its popularity in countries such as Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
Although the trend has recently seen a massive uptick in popularity thanks to TikTok, the method is actually something that Scandinavian people have been doing for years.
Influencer Erica Stolman Dowdy shared her experience of the practice after she learned about it on a trip to Copenhagen with her husband.
While they were there, she realised the hotel had given them 2 single duvets so that they can have one each, rather than sharing a single double-sized one.
“The Scandinavian sleep method is an absolute game changer. 10/10 recommend,” Dowdy wrote in the caption to her video, which has amassed 3.3 million views.
In the clip, she is seen stripping her bed of its king size blanket and replacing it with 2 singles.
The comments section is full of fellow users sharing how the Scandinavian sleeping method has changed their lives.
“My husband is from Germany and we’ve always done this, my favourite way to make the bed is to fold each twin and turn it sideways fits perfect,” one person wrote.
Another said: “Once you sleep with two comforters … you will NEVER go back to only one!!!”
“Yup. Hubby and I have had our own comforters for over a decade. The best,” a third agreed.
A fourth echoed: “Ohhh that’s such a great idea!”
While a fifth said: “Legit started doing this last year and it is a GAME CHANGER. No more ’empty space’ of cold air creeping in the middle of the bed.”
