Just days after Aaron Rodgers suffered a catastrophic injury during MNF, Colin Kaepernick emailed the NY Jets general manager a letter requesting that the team think about including him as part of their practise squad.

The message that was sent to Joe Douglas on Tuesday was posted to J. Cole’s X account, breaking the news of the communication.

Colin reportedly indicated interest in joining the team in earlier reports.

In his letter, he said: “I’m writing, of course, in response to the unfortunate loss of Aaron Rodgers. I know the aspirations this season were, and still are, to win a championship, and so that Hall of Fame sized hole will need to be filled as best as possible to keep the team on a Super Bowl track.”

He continued: “As much as I would love the opportunity to fill that [starting] spot, I’m writing you in hopes that you can imagine a much different approach involving me; I would be honored and extremely grateful for the opportunity to come in and lead the practice squad.”

“I would do this with the sole mission of getting your defense ready each week.”

Kaepernick continued by saying that if Zach Wilson’s situation didn’t work out, he could serve as the team’s fallback option.

“I believe a confident Zach Wilson has the tools to do this. However, in the event that this is not the case, I would love to offer you a risk-free contingency plan.”

It seems that although Colin hasn’t competed for the San Francisco 49ers since 2016, he still thinks he’s a superior quarterback.

“I am sure of my ability to provide you with an elite QB option if, God forbid, QB1 goes down, he said, adding: “Unlike many of the veteran QB’s that have been named in the media, I’ve never retired or stopped training.”

Dozens of people have taken to social media to share their thoughts on his letter, with one writing: “Make sure your players are good with it and give him a chance to be on the practice squad that way when it doesn’t work out he had a fair shot and can stop asking.”

While another commented: “I honestly don’t think he can still play at this point, too many things have changed in the league.”

“He just wants a platform. I wouldn’t let him play on my park board kickball team… he’s that bad of a player and a bunch of other negative energy. No.” a third added.
