Vanessa Feltz has candidly addressed the swirling speculations surrounding her longtime friend Phillip Schofield potentially joining the reality show “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!”
Vanessa scorned the notion that Phillip Schofield might consider appearing on either I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! or Celebrity Big Brother, expressing disbelief at the possibility that the rumours hold any truth.
After taking a step back from his role on This Morning alongside Holly Willoughby and confessing to an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a much younger colleague, Phillip distanced himself from television. This incident severely tarnished his public image as a family man, and he was swiftly let go by his agency YMU. Earlier this year, he participated in a tearful BBC interview, disclosing his struggles with darker thoughts.
Although the idea of Phillip potentially returning to the small screen via a reality show has been suggested, Vanessa remains highly skeptical of such a comeback. She expressed her skepticism to OK! magazine, stating, “I don’t know anything about it [the rumours]. I would be absolutely flabbergasted if that were true.”
Vanessa not only finds the notion of Nigel Farage being a contestant somewhat unexpected but believes that the possibility of Phillip taking part in the show is even more unlikely. She firmly conveyed, “Philip Schofield, I would say put your money on him going nowhere near the place!” Regarding a prospective Celebrity Big Brother stint for Phillip, Vanessa dismissed the idea altogether, affirming, “I wouldn’t put any money on that either. I think absolutely not to both of those.”
Her enduring friendship with Phillip was evident during his tumultuous period following the This Morning scandal. Pictures surfaced of her consoling him during a visit to a London restaurant, Little Bird, in the aftermath. Vanessa stood by him, expressing her deep concern, “I’m absolutely devastated on behalf of everyone. I’ve always been good friends with Holly and Phil, I’ve been on that show for years and years. I just feel very sorry for anybody who’s been hurt or implicated in what’s happened.”
Vanessa herself ventured into the world of Celebrity Big Brother back in 2001, where she encountered Boyzone’s Keith McDuffy. This led to a connection with her ex-boyfriend Ben Ofoedu of Phats and Small, whom she dated for almost two decades before parting ways earlier this year.
