Britney Spears took to Instagram to reveal her bruised and swollen foot following what she described as an embarrassing accident at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California. In a video shared on Thursday, the “Circus” songstress admitted to a mishap while attempting a leap in the living room, resulting in a twisted ankle.
“I really twisted my ankle last night like an idiot — just to show proof,” Spears confessed in the video. “It’s so bad. F–king idiot here tries to do a leap in the living room of the Chateau and I fell — embarrassed myself — and that’s it.”
Paramedics swiftly responded to the incident, causing what Spears deemed an unnecessary scene. Despite the discomfort, she acknowledged that accidents happen.
In a subsequent clip, Spears appeared emotional as she compared her injured foot to the unaffected one. Alongside the footage, she implicated her mother, Lynne Spears, suggesting her involvement in the situation.
“I haven’t talked to her in 6 months and she called right after it happened before the news being out,” Spears wrote in the caption, alleging a setup akin to past incidents. However, the extent of Lynne’s involvement remains unclear.
Acknowledging her legal counsel, Mathew Rosengart, Spears expressed gratitude for his support during the ordeal, describing him as a father figure.
Amidst the tumultuous incident, a source close to Spears assured her resilience, despite the trauma endured during the conservatorship. Representatives for Spears were not immediately available for comment.
Reports emerged after first responders were called to Spears’ hotel room around 1 a.m. following reports of an injured woman. While Spears attributed the injury to a mishap during a leap, sources suggested it followed a disagreement with her boyfriend, Paul Richard Soliz.
Denying headlines of a fight, Spears criticised media coverage and claimed harassment by paramedics. Concerns for her well-being arose among friends, particularly regarding her relationship with Soliz, described as “bad news” by one insider.
