Man Behind Viral Blue Dress Confesses To Strangling His Wife

Keir Johnston, 38, stood before the High Court in Glasgow and confessed to a harrowing act: strangling his wife in a “terrifying” ordeal that left her fearing for her life.

The couple, residing on the Isle of Colonsay since their 2015 wedding, gained unexpected notoriety when a dress worn by the bride’s mother at the ceremony sparked a global debate over its colour. Dubbed ‘The Dress That Broke the Internet,’ the viral sensation stirred controversy, with opinions divided over whether it appeared black and blue or white and gold.

Amidst the whirlwind of attention, including features on platforms like Tumblr and invitations to talk shows hosted by celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres, the couple’s idyllic life took a dark turn on March 6, 2022.

In a disturbing turn of events, Johnston, driven to violence, unleashed a brutal attack on his wife, Grace, at their remote Scottish Island residence. Reports indicate he uttered chilling words, ominously declaring, “someone is going to die.”

Previously, Johnston faced allegations of prolonged domestic abuse and coercive control spanning over 11 years, which he vehemently denied. However, his recent admission to the grave offence unveils a disturbing chapter in their relationship, shattering the facade of their public image and exposing the dark reality of domestic violence.
