Tragic Event Unfolds at Schiphol Airport.
A fatal accident occurred at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, where an individual lost their life after ‘falling into’ a running aircraft engine.
The Royal Military Police of the Netherlands reported the incident, stating: “An incident occurred this afternoon on the Schiphol platform where a person fell into a running aircraft engine and died.”
An investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
Schiphol Airport expressed their condolences on X, saying: “Our thoughts go out to the relatives and we care for the passengers and colleagues who witnessed this. The Royal Military Police are currently conducting an investigation.”
According to Dutch media, the aircraft, operated by KLM, was scheduled for a flight to Denmark when the incident happened. KLM has also confirmed that an investigation is ongoing.
Schiphol Airport described the incident as “horrible.”
