Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt’s Daughter Shiloh Officially Files To Change Surname

Meet the new Miss Jolie.

In the midst of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s ongoing legal disputes, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has legally sought to remove “Pitt” from her surname, as revealed by documents obtained by TMZ on May 30.

This filing coincides with Shiloh beginning a new chapter in her life. According to the documents, her name change request was submitted on May 27, her 18th birthday, marking her official transition into adulthood.

Besides Shiloh, Brad and Angelina share parenting responsibilities for their other children: Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, and 15-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

E! News reached out to Brad’s representative but did not receive a response. Similarly, efforts to contact Angelina’s representative were unsuccessful.

It appears that Shiloh is not the only family member opting for a shorter name. Just last week, various outlets noted that Vivienne’s name was listed as “Vivienne Jolie” in the playbill for the new Broadway musical “The Outsiders,” which the 15-year-old co-produced with Angelina. Additionally, their eldest daughter Zahara has also chosen to drop the hyphenated surname. When she joined Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College in November, she introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie” during the initiation ceremony.

Name changes are not uncommon in the Jolie-Pitt family. Angelina herself dropped her father Jon Voight’s surname to become Angelina Jolie, and Brad, born William Bradley Pitt, abandoned his first name when he moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.

Apparently, it runs in the family.
