Sean Kingston has been booked into jail following his arrest in a $1 million fraud case. The 34-year-old singer, known for hits like “Beautiful Girls” and “Eenie Meenie,” was detained after police raided his home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, late last month. Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, faces several charges, including grand theft, identity theft, and conducting an organized scheme to defraud.

Kingston’s legal troubles began when he and his mother, Janice Turner, were accused of failing to pay off debts related to a TV and sound system installed in his home. The accusations led to a lawsuit filed in February, resulting in more than $1 million in fraud charges against them. Turner was arrested on May 23, and a warrant was issued for Kingston’s arrest on the same day. He was arrested in California, where he had been for a performance, and later agreed to be extradited to Florida.

Kingston is currently being held in Broward County jail with bail set at $100,000. His mother is also detained at the same facility on a $160,000 bond. The arrest warrants indicate that between October and March, Kingston and Turner allegedly stole nearly $500,000 in jewelry, over $200,000 from Bank of America, $160,000 from an Escalade dealer, $100,000 from First Republic Bank, and $86,000 from a custom bed maker, among other amounts.

Kingston’s lawyer, Robert Rosenblatt, has stated that they are confident of a successful resolution to the charges. This legal issue adds to Kingston’s existing troubles, as he is already serving a two-year probation sentence for trafficking stolen property. The case has drawn significant attention, highlighting the serious nature of the allegations against the singer and his mother.
