Second Season Of Netflix’s ‘Monster’ Coming This Year And Killers Have Been Confirmed

The eagerly awaited second season of the hit Netflix series Monster is set for release later this year, and the focus of the new episodes has been revealed.

The first season, titled Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, chronicled the life of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer (portrayed by Evan Peters). It depicted his transformation into one of the most infamous serial killers in the US, documenting his crimes across the American Midwest from 1978 to 1991.

The true crime series dramatized key moments in Dahmer’s life, including instances where he was nearly apprehended, before ultimately being caught by police and imprisoned.

Exploring themes such as police incompetence and Dahmer’s apathy, the 2022 series captivated audiences. The excitement grew when, in 2023, it was announced that a second season was in the works, focusing on a different serial killer.

The success of the first season was phenomenal, making it one of Netflix’s most-watched shows ever, amassing one billion view hours within its first 60 days.

Creators Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan are set to return with a new high-profile case that captured national attention in the 1990s.

Despite expectations of a single serial killer story, fans will be treated to two in the new season.

The second season, titled Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, delves into the notorious 1989 case where Lyle and Erik Menendez were suspects in the murder of their parents.

The series will follow the brothers, who brutally shot their parents, José and Mary Louise Menéndez, in their Beverly Hills home. During the trial, they claimed years of sexual, emotional, and physical abuse drove them to commit the murders. However, the prosecution argued their motive was to inherit the family fortune.

Ultimately, the brothers were convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny are set to star as the parents, while newcomers Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch will portray Lyle and Erik Menendez. The cast also includes Nathan Lane, Ari Graynor, Leslie Grossman, and Dallas Roberts, among others.

Excitement is palpable on social media, particularly in the Facebook group Netflix Bangers. One user commented, “Not gonna front, I’m excited about the brothers.” Another added, “We need more shows like Monster,” while a third said, “Season 2 is about The Menendez Brothers. I’m hoping Season 3 will be John Gacy. Season 4 Ted Bundy.”

First, let’s get through season two!
