‘World’s Hairiest Girl’ Has Completely Shaven Her Face

A woman once dubbed “The World’s Hairiest Girl” now regularly shaves the excess hair from her body and shares affectionate photos with her new partner.

Supatra “Natty” Susuphan, now 23, has a rare genetic condition called Ambras Syndrome, or Werewolf Syndrome, a form of hypertrichosis that causes excessive hair growth.

Due to this condition, thick hair naturally grows on her face, ears, arms, legs, and back. This genetic anomaly has affected only around 50 people worldwide since the Middle Ages. In earlier times, those with this condition were often ostracized as “werewolves.”

In 2010, the Guinness World Records recognized Susuphan as the world’s hairiest girl. Despite undergoing laser treatment, her excessive hair growth persisted, so she now shaves her entire body.

Susuphan has spoken openly about the teasing she endured at school, where she was called names like Wolf Girl and Chewbacca. However, her friends and family have always been supportive. She previously told the Guinness World Records, “I don’t feel any different to anyone else, and I’ve got lots of friends at school… Being hairy makes me special. There were a few people who used to tease me and call me monkey face but they don’t do it any more. I’m very used to this condition. I can’t feel the hair as it has always been like this. I don’t feel anything. It does sometimes make it difficult to see when it gets long. I hope I will be cured one day.”

Her condition has not hindered her love life. In 2018, multiple outlets, including Metro and the Daily Mail, reported that Susuphan had married the “love of her life.” However, she now appears to have a new partner. Back in 2018, the then-teen reportedly shared heartfelt words about her husband on social media, writing, “You’re not just my first love, you’re the love of my life.”

The young woman from Bangkok, Thailand, has been posting photos of her hair-free face on Facebook for several years, along with pictures of her new partner, Suchada Poonlumpao. In December 2022, Susuphan celebrated their five-month anniversary by sharing photos of herself without facial hair alongside Poonlumpao. Leading up to this post, Susuphan had shared numerous sweet photos and videos of the couple posing lovingly together.

Poonlumpao has also posted several romantic photos on Facebook. The details of how they met and the circumstances of Susuphan’s split from her previous partner remain unknown. According to their Facebook profiles, the new couple is in a “domestic partnership.”
