Britney Spears Breaks Her Silence After Justin Timberlake’s Arrest

Britney Spears has broken her online silence amid the arrest of her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake.

Timberlake, 43, was arrested for driving while intoxicated in Sag Harbor, Hamptons. His mugshot, showing bloodshot eyes, was released on Tuesday. Reports indicate that Timberlake, who was seen swerving and ran a stop sign, had been socializing with friends at the American Hotel before leaving around 12:30 A.M.

As Timberlake’s mugshot circulated online, Britney posted a photo of a fruity cocktail on Instagram with the cryptic caption: “It’s the little things you know [flower emojis].” Comments were disabled on her post.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Timberlake, who dated Britney from 1999 to 2002, appeared “glassy-eyed” and had alcohol on his breath during the arrest. He reportedly failed a field sobriety test. Despite claiming to police, “I had one martini and I followed my friends home,” he was arrested and taken into custody.

The Suffolk County District Attorney stated that Timberlake will be arraigned in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court. Timberlake, who shares two children with his wife Jessica Biel, arrived at court wearing a dark band T-shirt, an open black short-sleeved shirt, a black baseball cap, and dark sunglasses. He was charged with one count of Driving While Intoxicated, running a stop sign, and failing to stay in his lane.

His court date is scheduled for July 26, coinciding with the start of the European leg of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour in Krakow, Poland. Concerns about the tour’s impact were echoed by a source who told Page Six that Timberlake worried aloud, “This is going to ruin the tour.” His next performances are set for June 21 in Chicago and June 25 and 26 in New York at Madison Square Garden.
