Brooke Mueller, the ex-wife of Charlie Sheen, is reportedly being questioned by the police in connection with the death of actor Matthew Perry.
Perry, the beloved “Friends” star, was found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home in October of last year and pronounced dead at the age of 54. Two months later, the LA County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed that Perry died from the ‘acute effects of ketamine’ and ruled the death as accidental. The autopsy also mentioned ‘drowning, coronary artery disease, and the opioid buprenorphine’ as contributing factors.
Despite the ruling of an accidental death, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) launched a joint investigation to trace the source of the drugs found in Perry’s system. Perry had openly discussed undergoing ketamine infusion therapy for anxiety and depression, but his last infusion was a week and a half before his death, suggesting the drugs were obtained elsewhere.
In a public statement, the LAPD said: “Based on the medical examiner’s findings, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), with the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the United States Postal Inspection Service, has continued its investigation into the circumstances of Mr. Perry’s death.”
As the investigation unfolded, In Touch reported that a woman, whose identity was initially withheld, was interviewed multiple times by the police. Law enforcement executed a search warrant at her Los Angeles home, where they confiscated an iPhone and a computer. The woman, who had been out exercising during the search, cooperated fully with the authorities upon her return.
Sources indicated that this woman met Perry in rehab, where they developed an unexpected relationship. In Touch later revealed that this woman is Brooke Mueller. Mueller, who was married to “Two and a Half Men” star Charlie Sheen from 2008 to 2011, has reportedly been questioned numerous times and has hired lawyers to navigate the investigation. An insider emphasized her cooperation, stating: “She’s being tight-lipped about the situation but is adamant she had nothing to do with Perry’s death.”
