Fans are obsessed with all eight episodes of an ‘unbelievable’ new Netflix show.
If you’re still searching for that ideal series to binge, Jeff Goldblum might have just the thing for you. The show in question is a fresh, comedic take on Greek mythology, led by Charlie Covell, and it’s currently streaming on Netflix.
In Kaos, Goldblum takes on the role of Zeus, who’s become increasingly paranoid about losing his throne. Meanwhile, Hera (played by Janet McTeer), his wife, is scheming behind his back. Poseidon (Hugh Grant), disillusioned and cynical, harbors a deep disdain for humanity, while Hades (David Thewlis) navigates the complexities of the underworld. Billie Piper also features as Eris, the goddess of discord.
The eight-part series has been generating buzz, earning a solid 70 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Many viewers have been singing its praises and are already clamoring for a second season.
One enthusiastic fan said, “FANTASTIC. Entertaining, thought-provoking, compelling, great acting, and a great twist on the classic stories that make up our human history. Kaos is beyond refreshing and a much-needed breath of fresh air from so many of the other series being released. There will absolutely be a season II, and rightly so. Do yourself a favor… WATCH IT!”
Another viewer added, “This show is unbelievable. Please watch Kaos to make sure it doesn’t get canceled by Netflix. You will never view Jeff Goldblum the same way, I promise you that.”
However, not everyone is as impressed. One critic wrote, “Very dull. I am sure the writers think the show is smart and funny, but it is tedious and I am shocked this actually got made.”
Another viewer remarked, “But for Jeff Goldblum, this would have been a Greek tragedy of epic proportions. Instead, it’s just a pretentious bore for much of the season. It tried to be elevated, but except for a smattering of funny/interesting scenes scattered throughout, it dragged on and on too long. Zeus should have destroyed this while he had the chance.”
Offering a more balanced perspective, one viewer said, “Great concept. Sets are beautiful. Some really great scenes. Some are a little wooden. There are a lot of storylines and characters going on and it would have been nice for some of them to be fleshed out a little more, but I imagine that’s a budgeting issue. Worth a watch.”
