Amber Heard Trolled Over Daughter’s Unusual Name: ‘She’ll Be Bullied For The Rest Of Her Life’

Amber Heard is once again facing online backlash, and this time it’s over the name of her daughter.

The actress, known for her roles in films such as Aquaman and The Rum Diary, is no stranger to public criticism. From her highly publicized marriage and legal battles with Johnny Depp to her outspoken activism, Heard has often been in the media spotlight.

However, this latest wave of attention isn’t focused on her career or activism but rather on her daughter’s name, which has sparked considerable online debate and trolling.

People on social media have had plenty to say about the name, with one user on X, formerly Twitter, commenting, “Amber Heard’s poor little baby girl will be bullied so bad because of her name.”

Another wrote, “This name makes me think of someone who wears fur and conquers villages. People, please. Name your children reasonably.”

A third user joked, “Don’t know, could be worse… she could have named her Seenbutnever!”

Meanwhile, a fourth person added, “Whatever. It’s her choice to name her child what she wants. It’s not the worst I’ve heard. Look at Elon Musk’s kid – X A-something squared…”

Parenting in the public eye comes with its own set of challenges, especially when it involves something as personal as choosing a child’s name. Celebrities often face intense scrutiny and the opinions of millions of strangers. For Heard, this kind of attention is nothing new.

When she announced the birth of her daughter, much of the online reaction focused not on the joy of a new life but on the name she chose. Heard shared the news on Instagram in 2021, writing, “Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child. I wanted to do it on my own terms. A part of me wants to uphold that my private life is none of anyone’s business. I also get that the nature of my job compels me to take control of this.”

She then revealed her daughter’s name, which quickly became a trending topic on social media. Described by some as “unusual” and “unique,” the name drew mixed reactions.

While some praised Heard for her creativity, others were less supportive. Social media, often a hub for negativity, saw a surge of trolling, with critics arguing that the name was too unconventional and could lead to bullying as the child grows up.

This backlash underscores a common theme in celebrity culture: the public’s tendency to judge and critique the personal choices of famous individuals. Despite the criticism, many have defended Heard, pointing out the double standards often applied to celebrity parents.

Celebrities frequently choose unique and memorable names for their children, a trend that is not new. From Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter Apple to Elon Musk’s son X Æ A-12, these names are often seen as a form of artistic expression or a way to ensure the child stands out.

For Amber Heard, that love is reflected in her daughter’s name, Oonagh Paige. While Heard hasn’t publicly explained the reasoning behind the name, the middle name appears to be a tribute to her late mother, Paige Heard, who passed away in May 2020, a year before Oonagh was born.

“I feel truly lucky to have been her daughter and been given the gift of having the light she shone on everyone, fall on me for nearly 34 years,” Heard wrote in an Instagram post announcing her mother’s death.
