TMZ has removed photos allegedly showing Liam Payne’s body after facing significant backlash from fans online. The outlet was the first to report Liam’s death on October 16, initially including images in its article.

Two pictures, reportedly displaying Liam’s arm and waist with recognizable tattoos, were published to verify the news of his death, which was said to have occurred after he fell from a third-floor hotel balcony in Argentina. TMZ explained that they shared these photos to confirm the details.

In its original article, TMZ stated: “TMZ obtained a photo showing Liam’s body on a wooden deck at the hotel, with tables and chairs nearby. We’re not showing the full body, but you can clearly see his tattoo—a clock on his left forearm and a scorpion on his abdomen.”

After receiving intense criticism online, the photos were removed, and the article was edited to say: “TMZ has seen a photo showing Liam’s body on the deck at the hotel, with tables and chairs nearby. His tattoos—a clock on his left forearm and a scorpion on his abdomen—helped us confirm early witness reports.”

The public reaction was overwhelmingly negative, with many condemning TMZ’s decision to post the photos. One X user called it “beyond deplorable” and “morally decrepit.”

Several individuals urged for legal action against TMZ or for the site to be shut down. One person wrote: “I hope Liam’s family sues TMZ. I’ve never been so disgusted in my life.”

Another added: “TMZ needs to be shut down for good. The bar can’t possibly get any lower.”
