Tom Hanks has insulted ’77 million people’ with what some people are calling a ‘disgusting’ SNL sketch.
On Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary, the iconic actor dressed up as ‘Doug’, a MAGA Trump supporter that first appeared in 2016, aimed at showing the differences between Trump voters and Black culture.

However, when Doug was brought back for the special anniversary, many Trump supporters were not happy.
In the episode, Doug appears and refuses to shake hands with Darnell Hayes, played by Kenan Thompson.
Many Trump supporters took to social media to share their feelings about this move. One person wrote: “This show wonders why their ratings are in the gutter,”, “Trump won the popular vote. This tired trope that MAGA is racist is disgusting. SNL is an unfunny show for snobbish liberal elites.”
Another agreed: “Tom Hanks was just disrespecting every Republican on SNL as he was dressed up as a Trump supporter with a MAGA hat.”
“So not funny and Tom Hanks insulted me and 77 million other viewers.”
And another; “This trope of portraying the majority of the country as “racist” is so annoying, old, and divisive. Glad I’m not watching this tonight.”
Another Trump supporter said: “No one in the audience laughs as Tom Hanks appears on SNL as a racist Trump supporter that refuses to shake hands with a Black man.”
