Sean “Diddy” Combs allegedly didn’t know that his phone call with Kanye West was being recorded, according to a source.
A video of the 47-year-old rapper talking on the phone with Diddy was shared on Instagram on Monday. It appeared that West recorded the clip but at the time of writing, it is not clear who leaked the footage.
The source claimed: “Puff didn’t know it was being recorded [on video]”, adding that Combs “thought he was having a friend call him to check on his kids.”
The source added that “The call was real and not AI.”, despite rumors that it was not real.
Diddy is currently incarcerated in Brooklyn on charged of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. His trial is set for May this year.
West previously shared his support for freeing Diddy by writing ‘FREE PUFF’ on X.
He followed up by writing: “OUR BROTHER ROT AND NEVER SAY SH*T”
He continued on the app, saying twice “SLAVERY IS A CHOICE” and “THEY TRYNA PROVE A POINT AND YALL KNOW THAT YALL F***ING KNOW THAT AND SITTING LAUGHING AT THE F***ING INTERNET ON INSTAGRAM THIS MAN GAVE HIS LIFE TO US THIS MY IDOL THIS MY HERO.”
“WHAT YALL GONE DO CANCEL MY SNEAKER DEAL CANCEL MY RECORD DEAL FREEZE MY ACCOUNTS F*** ALL YALL N***S SLAVERY IS A CHOICE IM SPEAKING MY MIND NOW I AINT EDITING SHIT AGAIN EVER.”

Fair to say his fans are outraged that he is defending Diddy.
One person wrote: ‘Supporting diddy isn’t even funny man’ while another agreed: ‘Can’t keep defending you bro’.
On their now viral call, Diddy told Ye to “have some f–king fun” and to “get behind the mic.” as well as thanking him for “taking care of my kids”.
Ye has since declined to comment on if he recorded the phone call or not.
