Bill Belichick’s daughter-in-law Jennifer Schmitt has spoken out about his girlfriend, Jordan Hudson’s controversial CBS interview moment.

Ex-New England Patriots players Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski discussed the recent incident on their podcast  “Dudes on Dudes”, claiming that Hudson was “working with Coach Belichick in the professional world” as as publicist.

Comedian Nikki Glaser shared her support for the remarks in a comment under a clip that was then shared to social media.

“100% this. She’s acting as his publicist. Publicists do this during interviews. People are out for blood,” she wrote.

“Publicists act in a professional manner and don’t ‘storm’ off set delaying an interview,” she wrote.

They made headlines after Hudson interrupted the interview to stop him from speaking about their relationship.

Journalist Tony Dokoupil asked Belichick, 73, who was there to promote his new book “The Art of Winning: Lessons From My Life in Football,” asked how the couple met when the former cheerleader interjected.

“We’re not talking about this,” Hudson said.

Hudson has since been torn apart online for her comment.

However, it seems her beau has defended her online, with a long statement: “I agreed to speak with ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ to promote my new book, ‘The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football.’ Prior to this interview, I clearly communicated with my publicist at Simon & Schuster that any promotional interviews I participated in would agree to focus solely on the contents of the book,” Belichick said in a statement.

“Unfortunately, that expectation was not honored during the interview. I was surprised when unrelated topics were introduced, and I repeatedly expressed to the reporter, Tony Dokoupil, and the producers that I preferred to keep the conversation centered on the book.”
