WWE legend Jim Ross has revealed he has been diagnosed with colon cancer.

The 73-year-old icon, known to fans as ‘Good Ol’ JR’, shared the update to X on Thursday:  ‘Diagnosed this week with colon cancer.’

‘Surgery being scheduled in the next week or two,’ he continued. ‘I appreciate your concern and support. 🙏’

The broadcaster has been open with his fans over the years about his health issues, including battling skin cancer and needing surgery on his hip.

Fans have shared their support to the icon, who launched some of the biggest names in the sport, including John Cena, Randy Orton and Trish Stratus.

‘JR is a fighter. So much love for Jim, and sending all the positive vibes for him for this surgery and his recovery ❤️,’ wrote Inside The Ropes editor Kenny McIntosh.

‘Sending you all the support, prayers and love, JR. Wishing you the absolute best. Greatest of all time,’ wrote @ShyGuyWorks, while broadcaster Ariel Helwani said: ‘God bless you, JR. Wishing you the very best. We are all praying and pulling for you.’

The legend was diagnosed with skin cancer back in 2021 and underwent 20 sessions of radiation to fight it, beating the illness in 2023.

In February 2024, he was spotted using a walking cane for support after breaking his right hip.

We wish him well at this difficult time.
