The NYC gunman who killed four people in an office building on Monday night has been identified.

Shane Tamura was a 27-year-old man from Las Vegas who had “a documented mental health history”.

He stormed into 345 Park Avenue – a 44-floor office building, and killed one police officer and three civilians before he shot himself.

One victim was wounded while four others had minor injuries while running for their lives from the gunman.

The man, who worked as a security guard at a Vegas casino, parked his vehicle outside the office block before entering with a rifle – making no effort to conceal the weapon.

He discharged the gun several times in the lobby before going to the 33rd floor where he shot his last victim and then himself.

When authorities searched his vehicle, they found a rifle case with rounds, a loaded revolver, ammunition, magazines and a backpack with his medication in.

He also had a concealed firearm permit from Las Vegas that was due to expire in 2027.

Schedule to work on Sunday, Tamura didn’t show up for his shift and instead drove through multiple states to reach the building.

His car was spotted driving in Colorado on July 26, Nebraska and Iowa on July 27 and Columbia, New Jersey on July 28.

He entered the office building lobby at around 6.30pm, causing mass panic.

The office itself contains businesses such as the NFL HQ, Blackstone, Rudin Management as well as Big Apple companies.

He was alone in his attack and police aren’t yet sure what his motives were.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch shared on Monday evening; “His motives are still under investigation. We are working to understand why he targeted this particular location,”.

One eye witness shared: “I was at work and this guy came in with an assault rifle and started shooting,”, “I was in the lobby at work.”

Jessica Chen who works on the second floor claimed there was 150 people in the middle of a presentation when she “heard multiple shots go off in quick succession from the first floor, and a lot of us just rushed into the room,”.
