Season 4 role to be recast after creative differences with the show

A major shakeup has hit The White Lotus.

Helena Bonham Carter has exited the upcoming fourth season just days after filming began.

And it happened fast.

Production had only just started on the French Riviera when the decision was made, with reports pointing to creative differences over her character.

According to the studio, the role no longer aligned once filming got underway.

Now, it is being reworked.

The character will be rewritten and recast in the coming weeks, while production continues on location in the South of France.

It is a surprising move.

Carter was reportedly one of the first actors considered for the new season, and her role was expected to play a major part in the story.

But she is not the only departure.

The show’s longtime composer has also stepped away ahead of season four, also citing creative differences.

Despite the changes, the series is moving forward.

The new season will follow another group of guests and staff over a week, this time set against the backdrop of the Cannes Film Festival and other luxury locations like Monaco and St Tropez.

And the cast is still stacked.

Several big names remain attached as filming continues.

But with a key role now up for grabs, this season just got a lot more unpredictable.
