People Horrified After Man Drops Go Pro Off Cruise Ship And Discovers What’s Underneath

Underneath the ocean’s surface has to be one of the most terrifying places on earth. With a multitude of things that can cause you serious harm, from everything as small as a sea urchin to as big as a shark, it’s no wonder that people are generally scared stiff of what goes on in the deep blue.

However, a photographer has left people on the internet absolutely horrified after he dropped his GoPro off the side of a cruise ship and let it film what really happens in the murky waters underneath the vessel.

Greek photographer Odysseas Froilan first shared the footage back in November 2021, but the creepy footage has recently resurfaced.

With over 5.3 million views on YouTube, it’s fair to say that the haunting video has gone viral.

Not much information is given surrounding the footage, and so it is unclear whereabouts in the ocean the spooky scenes come from.

However, one thing is for certain – after seeing what’s underneath this cruise ship, viewers will not be looking to go for a deep dive dip themselves anytime soon!

The footage begins rather tamely, with a school of fish swimming about, looking rather excited at the prospect of the new object in their sights.

It’s pretty much what you might expect from the happenings of under a cruise ship, but it’s not until later on that viewers began to get seriously creeped out.

Although this footage appears rather sweet, it’s only when it gets to the nighttime clips that things take a turn for the worse.

The clip showed nothing but pitch black, until sharks appear seemingly out of nowhere, leaving viewers totally freaked out.

“The way I went from kicking my feet in the air at the cute fishies and thinking ‘maybe the ocean isn’t so scary after all’ in the day footage to blankly staring, terrified, at the night footage, further confirming my intense fear of the ocean,” one viewer commented on the video.

“This was way more interesting than I thought it would be. Man there’s something primally terrifying about seeing a shark emerge from the darkness like that,” a second put.

Other commenters took the chance to educate themselves and others on the dangers of swimming in the sea.

“For years I wondered why there were pools on a cruise ship when there was this great big body of water to swim in. It’s videos like this that make me realise the importance of swimming in chlorine water,” one put.

A second said: “I would just like to point out the difference in marine life depending on the time of day. If you ever find yourself on a cruise, do not take a bet and jump into the ocean at night, most sharks are nocturnal hunters and they are basically just waiting for you.”
