PewDiePie Is No Longer The YouTuber With The Most Subscribers

YouTuber MrBeast has accomplished a significant feat, by becoming the most popular content producer on the platform, overtaking the previous record holder, PewDiePie.

This comes after he had already been named the richest YouTube creator by Forbes.

For those of you that don’t know, MrBeast is officially the most subscribed YouTuber ever. He recently overtook the previous titleholder, PewDiePie, and has 137 million subscribers and counting.

It’s not surprising he has so many fans, as the YouTuber is known for his selfless exploits and highly entertaining videos.

It’s clear MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is enjoying the spoils of YouTube content creation, and he recently revealed a shocking income source to the world.

He has been paid $250,000 in the past for personalized videos for billionaire’s kids!

According to Forbes, the twenty-four-year-old earned USD $54 million in 2021, with his net worth currently being USD $25 million.

Surprisingly, PewDiePie was ready for MrBeast to take the mantle, “Come on, I’ve been retired for like two years now. I can’t wait for it to be over,” he shared last August when MrBeast made it to 100 million subscribers. “That’s alright he definitely deserves it. I hope he does it.”

To celebrate, Donaldson asked 100 members to take part in contests for a chance to win a private island… as you do.

But this is nothing new, he has also previously championed charitable organisations like Team Seas and Team Trees in the goal of protection of environment and performed stunts like recreating the Squid Game, from which one lucky player won $456,000.

Talking about his possible takeover of PewDiePie, the Youtuber opened up about how much he respects him  “I appreciate how humble he is. Literally. I’m not gonna say names, but I think you can think of quite a few YouTubers, if they were in his position, that would just be arrogant and just be a giant pr*ck,” he said in an interview back in 2020.

The news has made the rounds online, and many social media users have shared their thoughts on PewDiePie being overtaken, with one writing: “Honestly though he stopped being “good” to say the least as soon as he did hit the top.

”His peak was when he just played games and enjoyed interacting with his community and collabing with other Youtubers.

“As soon as he hit the top? His whole content became reddit videos and reaction videos.

“He hasn’t been worth watching since like 2015. Same with the Sidemen: ‘We’re literal millionaires but we’ll put zero effort into our content.’”

While another commented: “He’s made enough money to live comfortable now and he’s going to be a dad soon .. I think he’s heading towards early retirement and to be fair he deserves it .. he was a great streamer.”

“It doesn’t really matter things change, he was the first and will always be the best in some peoples eyes. When you’re doing it as long as he has every day i can imagine it’s hard to find things to play/talk about every day, he’s got more money than he knows what to do with it so I’m sure he’s fine knowing he’s not at the top anymore,” a third shared.
