Alex Cooper welcomes her first baby with husband Matt Kaplan, confirming the arrival in an October 20 social media post. The Call Her Daddy host added a blue heart to the announcement, indicating that the couple had a boy.

Cooper shared a photo of the newborn bundled in a fuzzy blue outfit on a matching blanket, with his head outside the frame. His name and exact date of birth remain private. Even celebrity babies occasionally receive a little administrative discretion.

The podcaster announced her pregnancy on May 17 with a collection of photos showing her baby bump, captioned simply: “Our family.”

During the June 10 episode of Call Her Daddy, Cooper described the moment she decided she was ready for motherhood. Her parents had moved to Los Angeles to be closer to her, and the realization came while she was sitting in a hot tub with Kaplan one evening.

“The only thing that feels like it's truly missing right now is a child and starting our own family together and I have never felt more ready,” she recalled telling him. Cooper said voicing the thought felt both exciting and unexpectedly calm.

She had previously delayed starting a family so she could focus on her relationship with Kaplan and continue building her career. Nearly two years later, she said she had done what felt like everything she wanted to do and “couldn't be happier” to be pregnant.

Cooper and Kaplan married in April 2024 in a beachside ceremony in Riviera Maya, Mexico. She later told Vogue that the wedding was “emotional, heartfelt” and tailored to the celebration they had imagined.

Marriage had not always been part of Cooper's plan. She met Kaplan, a film producer, during a Zoom call in 2020, when pandemic restrictions made conventional dating somewhat theoretical. The pair later had dinner dates in Los Angeles and spent time talking in parking lots.

“There was no doubt in my mind after the first dinner that he would be the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with,” Cooper said. “I’m extremely picky so this was big for me.”
